EPL/EFL Players in Tier 4 To Get Covid Tests Twice A Week
The Premier League and EFL have decided to up the number of Coronavirus testings due to a new mutant strain in England’s tier 4 vicinities which has been said to spread way faster. Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Fulham and West Ham will have to subject their players and officials to tests every three days as opposed to the weekly tests that has been the case since the return of Premier League football.
The move is likely to be rolled out across all top-flight sides after the festive fixtures, amid an alarming rise in Covid cases. Prime Minister Boris Johnson says restrictions in Tier 4 are set to resemble the rules that were in place for the November lockdown – which means nonessential shops will shut and household mixing will not be allowed.
