West Brom Part Ways With Slaven Bilic, Coaching Staff
Newly promoted West Brom sack Slaven Bilic along with his coaching staff. The previous head coach led the former Championship club to English top flight division this season but the Baggies are currently down at the bottom in the standings with seven points from thirteen games following a run of twelve games with no win. The announcement came as quite a shock as they just held Man City to a 1-1 draw at Etihad Stadium while playing a defensive style of football that has been missing from the club this season during Premier League’s midweek fixtures.
Bilic was sacked alongside his assistant coaches in Dean Racunica and Danilo Butorovic including first team coach Julian Dicks. The club have plans to appoint 66 year-old Sam Allardyce with hope that he can salvage what’s left of the season and help them out of the relegation zone seeing as the Dudley native has never coached a side to relegation in his history with seven Premier League clubs. He is set to take on his first managerial position since getting sacked by Everton in 2018.
